Overview
Although werewolves are also created by the spread of disease, there are some werewolves who have power over their affliction. These are the direct descendants of the original Werewolf himself, and they have the power to transform at will. Even more useful, however, is the fact that they maintain sense of self and have the ability to reason while transformed. They cannot speak, but are otherwise no different than usual in behavior.
The majority of True Lycans (also known as True Werewolves) live their lives in secrecy, blending in where they can in fear of being hunted should anyone witness them transform or see their mark. However, it is believed there are certain clans of True Lycans that have formed in secrecy to protect their identities and interests.
True Lycans are born with a mark on the small of their back which identifies them as those who have inherited Lycan's Bloodline. It is a small deformity of the skin which forms a Z lying on its side with a vertical line down the center. Because of this symbol, True Lycans that are not born in secrecy are often abandoned, killed, or forced into hiding with their parents. It is said that this mark is the lasting scar of the curse.
True Lycans are only playable by NPCs.
