Overview

The frozen region known as Lehkzhul is composed mainly of a large glacier that has slammed into the continent of Dragonoa long before recorded history. Upon Thuwadian migration to the area shortly after The Great Exodus, the Lehkzhul Thuwadians, having already evolved long before the Dragonoans, quickly mounted a solid steel wall, isolating themselves from the rest of their species; They were isolationists, and they enjoyed that.

Unlike the Dragon Wastes or even Barakh, Lehkzhul is not merely cold. It is neither frozen nor covered by snow; it is, in fact, solid ice. No animals, other than the ice dragons and the Lehkzhuls, and no plant life has ever been recorded in this region. In the southernmost point is a large citadel, but it has been sealed for over two thousand years, and not even the Lekhzhuls remember it exists. It is not entirely known how the Lehkzhuls have survived for so long without food or water; Like the rest of the breed, it is a complete mystery.

When the Thuwadian Empire allied itself with the Lehkzhuls to take over the rest of the continent, the Lehkzhuls provided the necessary technology in order to do so. As the rest of the Thuwadians were only using magic and melee weapons, they were decimated by the mortars, aircraft, and other advanced technological devices that they brought into battle. However, many years ago, the Lehkzhuls retreated back into isolation, for unknown reasons. For a time, they were not heard from, except in whispers of Thuwadian explorers and rogues, who were able to sneak past the gate. Those whispers soon stopped, however, as whoever spread the rumours “disappeared”, never to be seen again.

In recent years, they had done something interesting: They opened the steel wall’s door, allowing a set number of visitors and immigrants to come into the region, and allowing a free flow of emigrants to leave the region. Interestingly enough, very few Lehkzhuls left the region; It seemed as if they prefer their strict, disciplined lifestyle. With the new influx of Lehkzhul Thuwadians into the rest of the world, they brought their unique gadgets and technological advancements into the forefront, for military and civil applications, as well as medicinal use.

The ambassadors seemed to be desperate to retrieve anyone who is halfway-decent with engineering to come back to their nation and aid them. It was speculated by many that there was more to their requests than just good PR.

The Lehk`zhulians were intregal to ending the Faerie/Zombie War in 2322, and by the year's end, they had set out to conquer the rest of Dragonoa, leading to the Thuwadian Civil War of 2323. The war ended on March 5th of 2323, as the President of Lehk`zhulia, Desars Kinder, was killed in battle. By mandate of Lehk`zhulian law, all members of the race were recalled to their glacier to vote on a new President. It seems likely that Kinder's successor has returned the nation to its isolationist ways, as shortly after the election, the entrance to the land was once again sealed.

The population of Lehk`zhulia was hit hard by the wars, having been cut by 17,000,000 from both death in battle, and the Dragonoan Thuwadians executing every single Lehk`zhulian PoW they got. Despite this, Lehk`zhulia was still the eighth-largest nation on Disparatus in terms of population, making it the largest nation to not be considered a "major nation" of Disparatus.

In March 2326, Lehk'zhulia took control of nearly the entire Dragonoan continent, leaving the Thuwadian Empire only the homeland of Dragonoa and Grax'dar, with half of their nation's income placed directly into Lehk'zhulian coffers. This also boosted Lehk'zhulia's population to 38,000,000 from the 30,000,000 living in annexed territory, and dropped the Empire to 40,000,000, just barely above Lehk'zhulia.
