The most recently built of the Arenan Alliance's cities, Verenalta is an experimental complex created to combat theoretical overpopulation. Verenalta is a 12-tiered megacity built into a conical structure. Six pillars surround a central tower, rising to a point a mile above the Petrarca Desert coastline. Every tier has a transportation hub with craft leading out of the city and to other decks. Each pillar contains a dozen high-speed elevators, and the tiers are all encircled by monorail systems that lead to major locations. Every other tier has an outdoor park on its rooftop. The city is entirely self-sufficient, with federally run water and power plants, as well as schools and medical facilities. It also has its own dedicated television network. It's entirely possible for a citizen of Verenalta to never leave the tower, in theory, though many residents frequent other towns and cities.

Verenalta had been conceived of around 2300 AE, but plans to build fell through until 2315, during the most severe recession the country had ever seen. Several public works projects had been enacted to ease the strain on citizens, but unemployment ran rampant throughout the nation, especially in the southeast. The Consortia agreed to move forward on the project, tapping into reserve funds and moving forward on the project, codenamed "Summit." Construction equipment, investors and unemployed workers flocked to the building site. Within 5 years, the project was completed.
