General
Stern, a compulsive liar, and socially rough around the edges, Prishka makes for a terrifying mother and scientist. Despite her small stature, she easily commands rooms and has little patience for incompetence or those unable to keep up with her keen mind. This makes her difficult to work with, especially if she is not in a position of authority. Despite these character flaws, she is coveted in chemical fields due to her prodigious skills and mastery of her field.
Prishka cares for few things beyond her research and family, and has a reputation for creating extremely dangerous chemical weapons with no regard for how they may be used. She carefully walks the fine line between genius and mad scientist, and has been known to disregard the safety of others and herself in the pursuit of discovery. It's rumored that during her research on nerve agents multiple scientists ended up dead, being used as human test subjects to satisfy her morbid curiosity. In groups she works best in an interdisciplinary setting, where she is forced to respect her fellow scientists who are experts in their own fields. While she has a solid understanding of biology and medicine, she respects those more knowledgeable than her, and is thus less likely to kill them in the name of discovery.
However there has been little evidence of her supposedly murderous ways, and efforts to determine if she has in fact used co-workers as test subjects come to no conclusion. It is possible that her infamy as a chemical weapons engineer combined with her difficult personality have lead to these rumors. Regardless of the truth, she carries a dangerous reputation and is often approached with apprehension. Those aware of her reputation who work with her are often surprised by her small stature, as she is physically not intimidating.
History
Early Life
Gifted from a young age, she was quickly taken out of traditional education programs and enrolled in a private, government program for the most gifted children in the United Provinces and Svaldon. There she learned with some of the greatest minds of her generation, and made contacts that she still uses to this day. In school she was an exceptional student, and favored by most teachers, particularly in the sciences. Her Chemistry teacher, Dr. Rebecca Huntmann, took a specific interest in the small girl, and Prishka has been known to attribute her eventual path as a chemist to her.
Career
As a teenager, she received an internship with Lykken Corporation. She stayed with them for a number of years, working alongside biologists primarily, before eventually being persuaded to join TTT Corporation in the UP. It was with TTT that she began to work on chemical weapons, which eventually skyrocketed her into the scientific spotlight with her development of an aerosolized caustic agent, commonly known as Cytosulf, for being both visually horrifying and lethal.
Dr. Shacher continued to work under TTT for 50 years, before suddenly leaving after having a falling out with the company. At this point her presence in the scientific spotlight is minimal, her work ceasing for a number of years before becoming involved in the Gemini Military program. Though less luxurious than the labs she was given with private companies, Prishka remained as a government contractor for a number of years. During her stay she developed multiple compounds, most of which were decided too dangerous for practical application.
As a weapons company, Prishka eventually returned to work for TTT. However her problems with the company returned, and her time working for them was short lived. After repeated falling outs with other large corporations, she returned briefly to work for Lykken Corporation. While reportedly pleasant, Dr. Shacher's dislike of the corporate environment eventually lead her to withdraw from the business world altogether.
It is only within the past year that her work for private interests has resumed, but strictly as an independent contractor.
Ingenium
After tiring of finances taking priority over the pursuit of discovery, Dr. Shacher was approached by Henrey Wallace, who she had formerly worked under during her time in the Gemini Program. While refusing at first, she eventually agreed to work for Ingenium.
Happy to finally work without restrictions, her research and cooperation with Ingenium continues to this day. She is extremely fond of the company, and speaks very highly of it, believing it to be the only business truly concerned with the pursuit of scientific progress instead of money. Without ethical restrictions or pressure for research with obvious practical applications, she considers her work there the pinnacle of her scientific career.
