Summary
Kri-Yut is a demonic entity who lacks a solid form. On its own, it appears as a dark gaseous substance. However, it has the ability to possess the bodies of others, but only those who are willing to allow it to. Those with weaker wills are more susceptible to its influence even when it isn't possessing them. Kri-Yut is more eager to possess those who have Keystones for unknown reasons.
History
Fall of Orka
Around 300 AE, the Maladorr Family of Orka summoned Kri-Yut as part of their dark experiments because that's how they roll. Making use of a willing Maladorr's body, Kri-Yut used ancient enchantments to create a massive stone tower as part of the method to summon the hellbeast Nasag.
Taking control of the immensely powerful Nasag, Kri-Yut proceeded to destroy the people of Orka, through both created blizzards and sheer brute force. Some remaining Orkan Crusaia finally slayed the beast, but Kri-Yut returned to the tower to summon it again. However, the Orkans had collaborated with the Alibaas to create a box that made use of the tower's own enchantments to seal away Kri-Yut inside of it. The box was hidden in some tunnels in what remained of Orka, where it remained for the next 2,000 years. The incident was chronicled in the Book of Quests, but to the rest of the world it seemed that the Orkans were just wiped out by blizzards.
Return
In 2323, someone with possession of the Book of Quests sent information regarding Kri-Yut to Ajoita Olta, who formed an excavation team to retrieve the demon. Kri-Yut took control of Olta and nearly escaped, but the security team Olta hired discovered the deception and he was taken into custody by the Svaldic government.
After a week where Kri-Yut arranged for the facility's power array to be damaged, it managed to escape the building it was being confined in, taking the body of Ajoita's father, General Doviko Olta. It brought back the tower for summoning Nasag, but the security team Olta had hired tracked it down and defeated it in battle before it could finish summoning the beast, sealing it away in the box once more.
Downfall
The Svaldic government kept and studied Kri-Yut's box for the next two years, probing the possibility of placing it in the body of a Gurivian they found in the South Seas, Kri-Yut itself pushing these thoughts on them more and more. Eventually, in February 2325, a group tasked by Xol'eth to retrieve its body arrived, forcing Kri-Yut to mount a last-ditch escape effort. It used two members of the group to free it from its prison and attacked them in Xol'eth's body. However, it overestimated the Gurivian's strength, and was defeated in a firey elevator explosion by Nathan Cobalt.
Kri-Yut fled to the base's storage of corrupted Keystones which were retrieved with Xol'eth's body, attempting to access them. Enos quickly came up with a plan and threw an experimental Keystone-infused rat into the room, which Kri-Yut hastily took so it could attain the Keystones, not knowing of their nature. The corrupted Keystones destroyed the rat's body, and presumably Kri-Yut itself.
